Mercedes-Benz A-Class E-CELL
Stringent emission regulation in Europe produces about the "boom" of electric cars in Europe. Mercedes-Benz was no less swiftly. They introduced the A-Class E-CELL. This is the second electric model alerts Daimler AG that has been ready for production after the Smart ForTwo Electric Drive.
Exterior and interior of this electric-powered city car with the A-Class plant fuel. Only, the chassis with built-coated floor for safe and secure battery under the passenger cabin. This position will provide benefits, making the car lower the center of gravity and of course make the control better.
Two lithium-ion batteries with a total of 36 kWh can use a maximum distance of 200 km (for all content). To charge the battery, users can plug directly into sockets in the home (230V). It takes 8 hours to fully charge. If charging in general electrical installations with voltage 400V, take only 3 hours.
Speaking of performance, the electric motor is used to produce power 95PS and 290 Nm of torque. The ability accelerates 0-60 km / h obtained in 5.5 seconds and to reach 100 km / h took 14 seconds. Its maximum speed is limited electronically at 150 km / hour.
On the instrument panel there is a multifunction display that shows battery charging status, mileage, travel time, average speed, average energy consumption, and the distance that can still be reached with the remaining capacity of electric energy.
The panel was replaced with engine speed manual power indicator. Segments green, white, and red on the indicator panel will indicate whether the system is in the driving mode to recharge the battery, economical, or a full-powered.
The plan, there are only 500 A-Class E-CELL to be made in their factory in Rastatt, Germany, starting autumn 2010. This car will be sold in several European countries, including Germany, France and the Netherlands.
