Lamborghini Jota

MSRP: TBD
This is the code name for Lambo's Murcielago successor, due out late next year. (The Reventon Roadster was the final edition for the Murcielago platform.) Spyshots tell us the car will have a carbon-fiber body shell and that its look has been influenced heavily by the Estoque concept. Lambo's V12 engine with a lighter body weight than the Reventon are highly likely. Best guess for power is 700 hp, just a push beyond the Murcielago LP670-4.

2011 Carlsson Mercedes CLS

Rolf Schlepp, chief designer for the Carlsson tuning company, accentuates the coupe styling of the Mercedes CLS with a new aerodynamic package. The kit includes stainless-steel grille inserts, rear apron boasting an integrated diffuser, front spoiler, and RS front spoiler lip, the last available optionally in carbon fiber. Power boosting kits are available from Carlsson for many different CLS engines; one boosts the CLS 63 AMG twin-turbo V8 from the standard 557 PS to as much as 600 PS. The CLS 350 CDI’s power rating is boosted by as much as 20 percent by the Carlsson C-Tronic control unit, bringing it up to 780 Nm and 320 PS, an increase of 130 Nm and 55 PS over the standard model. The sprint time of the Mercedes CLS has been improved from the standard by a full 0.3 seconds, resulting in zero to one hundred kilometers an hour in only 5.9 seconds.

Carlsson Mercedes SL 65 AMG C25 Royale

The guys at Carlsson brought their A-game to the Geneva Motor Show with a new version of the C25 called the Royale, based on the Mercedes SL 65 AMG. The tuning firm announced a limited run of 25 units, and the highly modified coupe already has six orders placed. These will be delivered sometime in 2011, while future orders for the C25 Royale take six months to complete and ship out. When comparing the factory Mercedes SL 65 AMG, the Royale weighs 180 kilograms lighter, and this was accomplished with the extensive use of carbon fiber, found on the hood and new roof. Other lightweight components are the full ceramic brake system, which are half the weight of the stock Mercedes SL65 AMG parts. However, the styling and weight reduction aren’t the only parts that Carlsson focused on, the performance under the hood is just as impressive as the exterior.

2011 MR Car Design Mercedes SL 65 AMG

The German tuning company MR Car Design has released this Mercedes SL 65 AMG called the Shining Star. Based out of Erftstadt, the tuners customized the exterior of this 2005 Mercedes with a new SLR inspired carbon bonnet from Kicherer. A new rear bumper, black fender lights, and mid-mounted rear brake were also installed for a personalized look. It now rides on shiny chrome 20-inch forged rims from Carlsson, and MR Car Design performed some tuning under the hood next. With new software tweaking the ECU, the Mercedes SL 65 AMG gained 80 PS and 110 Nm of torque to the factory output of 612 PS and 1,001 Nm of torque. This lightweight Mercedes can now be classified as a tuners dream with those figures.

Mansory Mercedes SLS AMG Cormeum

Here is another unique tuning job performed by the guys at Mansory on theMercedes SLS AMG. The supercar turned out much different in terms of styling compared to the factory model. Called the Cormeum, an odd name for a car I say, the style of this Mercedes is signed by Kourosh Mansory, the head designer and owner of the tuning company. The mods are extreme, and include new headlights similar to the Ferrari 599, a new front spoiler, larger air intakes, and F1 inspired front end. Several brake air ducts made their way into the body lines, while a rear spoiler fitted with a large air diffuser rounds out the rear. The world renowned tuners didn’t stop with just the exterior, however they boosted the power figures equally.

Piecha Mercedes ML 2011

The tuning firm Piecha Design has released a new program for the Mercedes ML called the Evorian RS. This kit also fits the GL-class X164, and consists of a front spoiler with integrated LED daytime running lights, new side skirts, chrome aerowings, and a rear diffuser. Exhaust sound and performance was improved with a Quadro-4-tube exhaust system and dual chrome plated exhaust tips. For the wheels and suspension on the Mercedes ML, Piecha hooked it up with new rims and tires, and a H&R coilover suspension kit to lower the ride height 35 mm in the front, and 50 mm at the rear. Performance tuning features a Power Converter Intermedia RC, to improve the acceleration and response time of theMercedes ML pedal at low speeds.

GRMN Toyota iQ Concept

We have a strange looking little car here from Toyota, who has exclusively debuted this tuned, track-ready conversion of the smart Toyota iQ city car. Tuning was performed by MN specially for Gazoo Racing, and the cubic iQ is the latest concept of the brand’s compact model. Most evident is the addition of a large front air dam, lower air intakes, and new racing wheels. A roll cage was custom built for the interior and track use, while the Toyota urban mini car reaps benefits from a supercharged engine. Now this is still a concept, it looks like the design and power could work since the car is so small. However, traction seems like the major issue because the short wheelbase. We’ll see what the Toyota tuning guys and GRMN can put together.

Toyota Sienna Swagger Wagon

Toyota Sienna Swagger Wagon
I had to post this car on the site because it gave me a good laugh with the name “Swagger Wagon” based off the Toyota Sienna. The all new Sienna has been a huge success so far for Toyota, and this project is straight over the top. It has been stretched and modified by taking a family functional minivan and turning it into a limousine. Customizations include new 20-inch KMC chrome wheels, Brazilian hardwood floors, HP TouchSmart computer, Xbox, and an all new audio system. The sound comes from 10 JBL GTO 428 speakers, two JBL GTO 804 subwoofers, and four amplifiers with 1700 watts of power. This swagged out Toyota Sienna Swagger Wagon will also be seen at the upcoming auto shows in Los Angeles, Detroit, and Chicago.

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner Gets Tundra Power

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner Tundra Power
At the upcoming SEMA Show, Toyota will release a unique Tacoma X-Runnerpick-up truck called the RTR. Ready to Race is what it stands for, and the tuned Tacoma comes powered by a modified Toyota Tundra 5.7-liter V8 engine. With the addition of a new supercharger and intake kit, the custom truck now delivers an impressive 504 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. It will come with a fabricated steel driveshaft, relocated exhaust behind the passenger rear wheel, and livery inspired tuning by the unique 1968 Dan Gurnery Mercury Cougar XR7-G pony car.

41st Tokyo Motor Show

Toyota FT-86 Concept Tokyo 2009
At the 41st Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru and Toyota have partnered together to release the Toyota FT-86 Concept. Both companies will produce their own versions of the car, but right now they are sticking with the Toyota name. It should launch at the end of 2011 and will be powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four cylinder engine. Sporting a rear wheel drive, the Toyota FT-86 Concept car shows performance numbers of 146 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Hopefully there will be a turbocharger available for those tuning enthusiasts wanting extra power for their Toyota or Subaru. Delivering maximum driving performance will be a 6-speed manual transmission, and the affordable sports car will be priced around $20,000 USD.

Toyota Prius Tommy Kaira

tommy-kaira-toyota-prius
Japanese car tuning specialists Tommy Kaira have created a modified version of the third-generation Toyota Prius, which is one of the top selling hybrids. All of the customizations are cosmetic because the tuning company didn’t want to hinder fuel economy, since that is the reason people buy the Prius in the first place. The front end received a completely redesigned look with the addition of a front lip spoiler and air intake vents. Lowering the ride height of the Toyota Prius is an aftermarket suspension kit to add to the new sporty look. It also received new larger wheels and tires because the wheels on most hybrid models are pathetic.

Alpina BMW B5 Bi-Turbo Touring 2011

Tuning company Alpina released their BMW B5 Bi-Turbo Touring edition at theGeneva Auto Show this week. The car is based on the BMW F10 5-series 550i, and challenges the BMW M5 with some new and old features. Almost a year ago, Alpina revealed the B5 biturbo sedan version, and still today it is ahead of the M5, while the new touring or wagon style features mostly the same specifications. It comes powered by the 4.4-liter V8, which is twin turbocharged, and tuned to produce 507 PS and 700 Nm of torque. These numbers are precisely 100 PS and 100 Nm of torque more than the 5-series. At the track, the ZF eight-speed Switch-Tronic automatic gearbox allows the BMW B5 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The top speed has been limited to 300 km/h by Alpina, while the fuel economy drops to 10.9 liters per 100km/h. Pricing for these modifications start at €98,800.

Ken Block Ford Fiesta RS WRC 2011Reviews

Although Ken Block stated last year was one of his best ever, the numbers show a disappointing FIA World Rally Championship campaign in his new Monster Energy Ford Fiesta RS rally car. Mechanical issues also plagued his performance in Rally America, however the Monster World Rally Team (MWRT) is hoping for an improved 2011 season with even more races and events. Some notable mentions in the United States include the Summer X Games, Gymkhana GRID, and select RallyCar rallies and RallyCross events across the states in hisFord Fiesta RS WRC car

Ken Block said, “2011 is going to be really big for me and the Monster World Rally Team“, and “We’re doing more WRC races this year, kicking off the Gymkhana World Tour, racing in Summer X Games, filming Gymkhana 4, plus hitting up a lot of other rally-related events worldwide. We even have a few top-secret projects in the works. I’m a lucky bastard to be doing all this, it’s going to be an amazing year!” Check out the pictures and three videos below with the first being the sexy Monster Girls, second of Ken Block answering questions, and third of his toughest test yet, the pre-rally in Sweden.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Wide Body Kit Conversion 2011

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Wide Body Kit Conversion
A killer wide body kit conversion has been made for the Chevrolet Corvette, from the tuners at ZR1 Body Kits. The Chevy Corvette already looks great from the factory, but this look has been inspired by the C6.R Corvette racing cars, featuring an aggressive stance and exterior styling. It is available in two varieties, the more aggressive called the Extreme Style ZR1 for the C6 Z06 Grand Sport retails for $7,599, while the tuning firm also offers the mild OEM-style ZR1 body kit for $6,999. Both of these performance packages are made from fiberglass using compression molds, and is similar to what the GM OEM manufacturers use for their body panels, while keeping the factory mounting points.
This Chevrolet Corvette ZR6X Extreme body kit widens the car 1.5 inches when compared to the OEM ZR1 fenders, giving plenty of room for new wheels and rubber. For customers looking to spend a little extra and make their Vette even more unique, ZR1 Body Kits offers a carbon fiber option for the front lip, side skirts, and diffusers. The result is one of the best looking Corvettes we’ve seen to date, with a menacing stance, and a flush wheel fitment that almost looks too good to be true!
