Carlsson Mercedes SL 65 AMG.

The guys at Carlsson brought their A-game to the Geneva Motor Show with a new version of the C25 called the Royale, based on the Mercedes SL 65 AMG. The tuning firm announced a limited run of 25 units, and the highly modified coupe already has six orders placed. These will be delivered sometime in 2011, while future orders for the C25 Royale take six months to complete and ship out. When comparing the factory Mercedes SL 65 AMG, the Royale weighs 180 kilograms lighter, and this was accomplished with the extensive use of carbon fiber, found on the hood and new roof. Other lightweight components are the full ceramic brake system, which are half the weight of the stock Mercedes SL65 AMG parts. However, the styling and weight reduction aren’t the only parts that Carlsson focused on, the performance under the hood is just as impressive as the exterior.
The heart of the Mercedes C25 Royal is the V12 biturbo powerplant, producing 753 horsepower and 1,320 Nm of torque. An insane amount of torque if you ask me, so Carlsson limited it to 1,150 Nm, most likely to keep the wheels on the ground, and not send the car spinning in circles. These stunning numbers allow the Royale Mercedes SL 65 AMG to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, while topping out at 352 km/h, in literally the blink of an eye. If you were to take it to the track, which I doubt any owners will, the C25 Royale has been fitted with a C-Tronic suspension kit from Carlsson tuning. It is able to detect the current road conditions and driving style to raise or lower the car for better handling and ride comfort. Inside the Mercedes, owners will find unique bespoke customizations, available in a variety of materials and features.
