Chrysler Wraps Auburn Hills HQ with New "Imported From Detroit" Tagline

The Chrysler Group is showcasing its new “Imported from Detroit” tagline for the 200 model series with a massive wrap covering almost the entire west side of the company’s 15-story headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The Detroit automaker's new tagline made its debut in a two-minute advertising spot for the company's latest entry to the mid-size segment on Super Bowl Sunday.

“The 2011 Chrysler 200 is a vehicle designed with purpose, it has beautiful shapes and incorporates the utmost attention to detail,” said Olivier Francois, President and CEO of the Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, and Lancia.

“This new mid-size sedan delivers on a promise to our customers to be the very best of American design combined with a value proposition that will exceed their expectations. The new tagline was created to convey the message that one does not have to cross an ocean to obtain luxury, its available right here,” Francois stated.

Francois last statement could be taken as a poke to European buyers who -figuratively speaking- will have to "cross an ocean to obtain luxury" given that the soon to be released Lancia Flavia is a re-badged 200 Imported from Detroit...

Building Wrap Facts [From Chrysler Press Release]

• The Chrysler 200 featured in the building wrap is 116 feet wide by 145 feet tall
  • Its grille is 51 feet wide
  • The badge on the Chrysler 200 grille is 31 feet in length
  • Headlight is 32 feet long
  • Its hood measures 44 feet in length and 85 feet in width
  • Its windshield is 66 feet wide and 20 feet long
  • The side-view mirrors are each 9 feet wide and 7 feet long
• The Chrysler brand logo is 98 feet wide
• The building wrap covers 14 stories of the Headquarters’ tower
• It took three days to place the wrap on the tower

2011 Chrysler 200 Fully Revealed Inside and Out in Video. What Do You Say? [with Poll]

Over the past few weeks, we've shared all the details and shown you a variety of photos of the Chrysler's Sebring replacement which has been reborn as the not-so-new 200 sedan. However, due to Chrysler's dappled photo tactics, many questions remained on the new 200's exterior as well as interior looks. Well, time has come to provide answers to all those questions with the first video of the car, which gives us a complete and unobstructed view of the 200 inside and out.

As a reminder, the 200 will go on sale in December with prices starting from $19,995. Engine choices are limited to a base 2.4-liter I-4 engine producing 173 horsepower and 166 lb.-ft. of torque, and an available new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 delivering 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque to the front wheels. The V6 is teamed up to a six-speed automatic transmission, while buyers of the four-cylinder model have the choice of a six- or four-speed automatic transmissions (yes, some things never change...).

Family Ties: Chrysler and Dodge Group Shots

2011 Chrysler 200: New Revealing Photos out in the Open

Along with the dark shadowed pictures we've already shown you, the folks over at The Car Connection have let out four more very revealing photos of the new Chrysler 200. The fresh images confirm our initial impression that the exterior of Chrysler's reworked mid-size sedan is more of the result of slapping a new face and tail on the Sebring than a full-blown facelift.

We'll have the chance to see the new 200 in the flesh at next week's LA Auto Show, but if you want the lowdown on it, aside from the exterior makeover, the 200 also gets a revised interior and a new 283HP Pentastar V6. It will go on sale before the end of the year with prices startings from $19,995 for the base four-cylinder model.

Chrysler Releases Pricing on 2011MY 200 Sedan, Starts at $19,995

Even though Chrysler has yet to give us the full picture on the Sebring's replacement, today the Detroit automaker announced pricing for the 2011MY 200 sedan. Planned to go on sale by the end of the year, the facelifted and renamed Sebring will be available at launch in three models (LX, Touring and Limited), with a fourth trim ("S") to be added later on. Prices start from $19,995, including a $750 destination fee.

North American buyers can choose between a base 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol hooked up to either a four-speed or six-speed automatic, and the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, which produces 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, and is mated to the 62TE six-speed transmission.

Chrysler says that virtually every system in its mid-size sedan is new or upgraded for 2011, while the redesign was inspired from the 2009 200C concept. On the outside, sheet metal upgrades include the new front fascia with Chrysler's corporate grille, LED lights all around and a reworked rear deck lid.

There are no photos of the interior yet, but the automaker makes word of an all-new instrument panel and steering wheel designs, plus new leather and cloth seating materials.

The starting U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for each trim model are:

• Chrysler 200 LX: $19,995 (including $750 destination)
• Chrysler 200 Touring: $21,995 (including $750 destination)
• Chrysler 200 Limited: $24,495 (including $750 destination)
